Joseph Federico, Vice President of Clifton NJ based NJMET
Joseph Federico holds the position of Vice President and Director of Operations at a Clifton, New Jersey-based electronics testing company, NJMET, Inc. Employed by the organization for over 30 years, Joseph Federico has played a pivotal role in the development of NJMET’s counterfeit electronics detection programs. Joseph Federico has also assisted NJMET in winning key contracts with major governmental organizations in the United States and abroad.
A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and the Metropolitan Technical Institute, Joseph Federico holds both an Associate degree and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology. Since the completion of his studies, Joseph Federico has worked with NJMET.
Joseph Federico initially served as a Testing Engineer at NJMET. As such, Joseph Federico developed a military testing department for NJMET that allowed the company to cater to the testing needs of the Reagan administration’s Strategic Defense Initiative, popularly known as the Star Wars program. Through this department, Joseph Federico developed protocols for testing the reliability of electronic components used in automotive, military, and aerospace applications.
As NJMET’s reputation for leading edge electronics testing grew, Joseph Federico secured contracts with major firms, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and British Aerospace. In the 1990s Joseph Federico’s department conducted testing for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the United States Department of Defense, the European Community Council, and the Israeli Aerospace and Defense Industries, among others.
Joseph Federico led NJMET’s expansion into new locations in the early 2000s, starting with operations in Los Angeles under the name of California Micro Electronic Testing and in London as Europe Micro Electronic Testing. Joseph Federico has subsequently established additional facilities in Denver, Colorado. Joseph Federico works out of NJMET's Clifton, NJ office. He also supervises s operations at NJMET's other locations.
A pioneer in the development of electronics counterfeiting detection, Joseph Federico is currently writing a book on the subject, with the working title MISSION: IMPOSTER The Remedy to Detect Counterfeit Electronic Components. Joseph Federico holds numerous industry certifications and is in demand as a lecturer and educator in New Jersey. Providing legal assistance as an expert witness consultant Joseph Federico lectures at the P. Muscarelle Center at the FDU on this global epidemic of counterfeit electronic components. Joseph Federico lives in Wayne, New Jersey.
